Merry Christmas!

These are so easy to make and they are always a big hit for any holiday party!

You will need:

1 bag of mini marshmallows (10 oz)
1/2 stick of butter
1 box of Special K or Corn Flakes (12 oz)
1 bottle of green food coloring (1 oz. is plenty)
1 container of cinnamon candies (3 oz.)
Large stew or stock pot
Large rubber spatula
1 Teaspoon (not the measuring kind-the kind you use to stir a cup of tea)
Waxed paper
Baking pans (will not be using the oven though!)
Cooling Racks recommended but not necessary

Ready, Set, Go!

Over low heat, melt butter in pot, then add marshmallows-stirring until they are almost melted.  As marshmallows are melting, add the green food dye to your liking. Take care not to "boil" the mixture.  Once all marshmallows are melted and blended to the perfect shade of green, remove from heat and add the entire box of cereal.  Mix, mix, mix and mix some more till all flakes are completely covered with marshmallow mix.  Once it is mixed well, drop by the teaspoonful onto waxed paper lined baking sheets.  Don't play with them or try to shape them, the idea is to make them look like holly leaves with jagged edges. Place two candies on each cookie and then set the baking sheet aside to "set".  Don't stack the sheets, use cooling racks to separate if needed.  Let set till they are no longer sticky.  Makes several dozen !!

Welcome to my first blog....I have had this vision that this first posting would be some great literary work of genius but I lowered the bar....mostly for my own sanity!  Here's what you should know about me:

I'm the girl your mother said didn't exist and your father said once you find her, hold her tight and don't ever let her go.

I have rather strong opinions about most everything and sometimes I speak before I think.

I have 918 Facebook friends...

Stay tuned, something's sure to ruffle my feathers shortly.
